Phone won’t charge on Apple Carplay

I plug my phone in when i’m in my car to use apple carplay with my Kia, usually it charges too. it isn’t charging, this has happened before, and i’ve gone through 3 iphone cords in a month, assuming they get damaged overnight while i’m at work. i tested the same cord and port with my airpods and they started charging. my apple car play works but my phone won’t charge. i have the 11 Pro Max
