HELP!

I am going crazy here..

My daughter smashed the screen on her phone, which we have replaced.

The screen now says 'iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes'

I do this - but it seems that iTunes does not recognize the phone as it is not listing it in the top left corner as it normally would

I have read online that the phone needs to be unlocked in order for iTunes to recognize the phone! But how is this possible if my initial problem was the fact that the phone is locked/disabled!?!?

Connect iPhone to Computer / Mac

Use your USB lightening cable --> Resolve USB-related alerts in iTunes - Apple Support

If unable to connect --> If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support

Use genuine cable --> Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories ...

Forgot (You need a computer to follow these steps. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend,)

I am sorry, if you have forgotten your Lock Screen passcode and there is no backup, then all data is lost, if you have one, not to worry. But if you have forgotten the Screen Time Passcode and even if you have a backup everything is lost because restoring will bring back the screen time restrictions (Status Quo).

What you will get back is what you have synced to iCloud and uploaded to iCloud Drive; information already synced and stored in iCloud, like Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, Mail, Notes, Voice Memos, shared photosiCloud Photos *, Health data, call history, and files you store in iCloud Drive.

*-If you had turned on iCloud Photos, your content is automatically stored in iCloud.

A Few Thoughts:

A. Boot Up in Safe Mode:

See if this can be recognized. Hold down: [shift key] upon boot. Safe Mode boots up with only necessary items, and puts aside unneeded items such as caches.

B. Boot with the Plugged In:

Shut down your Mac. Unplug this from your Mac, and then plug it back in. As it boots up, see if it is shown.

C. Create a New Administrator User:

Another method would be to try a new user. See if this now works. If it does work, then it is something configured in your current user.
