Apple Intelligence is now available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac!
When I open the email app on the iPhone, the screen is not full view. There is a small section at the bottom of the phone that is black, making the area to read emails smaller.
How can I get it back to full screen?
the only thing that popped up were some old drafts and then the problem started.

Then follow the steps provided by MrHoffman (before my first reply).
Most likely you have to delete Mail app then install-it back again (and re-add your e-mail account).
or
Create a full backup and install a fresh copy of your iOS, restoring your device to factory settings and, in the end, set it up as new: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings – Apple Support
When done, restore data from your previously made backup.

I’ve not seen any similar reports; that’s clearly very confused.
Long shot: any add-on anti-malware, or add-on VPN clients installed? If so, remove those, and restart.
Failing that...
Get a backup.
Call Apple Support.
You’re probably then headed for a delete-and-reload.
Or for a backup, reset, reload, and restore.

Ciò succede soltanto aprendo l'app MAIL, oppure in tutte le applicazioni?

Does this happen in landscape and portrait?

No Zoom
I have the same issue - is there a way to solve it without re-installing the mail-app?!
Maybe it's a problem with not visible draft email in the bottom part of the display. Do you have any draft emails?
I’d back up once or twice, wipe, reload iOS, restore your backup.
And if you’re running POP with local downloads, switch to IMAP, and/or reload your mail back to a folder on the server.
