Running Catalina 10.15.3
When I have Safari in full screen mode, closing or quitting any other window or application will automatically slide the screen to Safari.
I'd like to close a window or application and remain on the Desktop screen.
Is this about using apps in Split Screen on a Mac?
If Safari was in Full Screen mode and a user opened another app, Desktop will show the Split Screen
When the second app window is closed or the app is quit, Safari window will regain the Full Screen mode.

Thanks for the reply— that's helpful, I'm realizing it's a function of the tab switcher. As I close an app, OS X defaults me to the last accessed application (in most cases Safari) and slides me over full screen.
