Software update time out

Hi.


I am unable to update my software. A notice appears stating "the request timed out". An error occurred while installing the selected updates.


How do i fix the problem?

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.14

Sorry to hear you're having this issue with your iMac.

What model year iMac are you using?

Click the Apple menu > About this Mac to find out.

You don't say which update you're trying to make so I'll assume it's to macOS Catalina.


Try this:

• Go to your Applications folder and locate the "Install macOS Catalina" application. Delete it and empty the trash.

• Restart your iMac in safe mode by pressing the Shift key until you see the Apple logo and progress bar at startup.

• Login, go to the App Store and attempt the upgrade again from there. If it works, Hooray! Then you can restart normally.


If this doesn't resolve the problem then come back and let us know.
