The OS is creating duplicate folders without being asked

Very strange, I noticed a duplicate folder on my Mac with just part of the contents of the original folder. It only contains a file called AdobeFnt21.lst in a cub folder called document fonts. I deleted the folder and a few minutes later it reappeared. Today it has done the same thing with another folder. The original folders are a package form indesign and contain all of the documents, a links folder and a font folder.

This is a new one to me and I tend to think it is adobe doing the business but can't be certain. It does seem to have started after the latest Indesign Update last week, It is not duplicating every folder though??? Any thoughts

Hey there philfromseaford,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re seeing duplicate folders appear unexpectedly. I’ll be happy to help with this.

Have you checked for any updates to your Mac or tried restarting it? If not, do both and see if this has any impact on the issue:

How to update the software on your Mac

How to turn your Mac on or off

If that doesn’t help, see if this occurs in safe boot or a new user account to isolate and possibly resolve this issue:

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Let me know if this helps.
