When I go to order the latest Star Wars movie The Rise of Skywalker using my Apple 4K TV, it says the movie is only in HD, not 4K. Why is this? I can successfully rent other movies in 4K, so I don’t believe it is anything wrong with my setup. Is anyone else able to rent it in 4K?

Because it is Disney, and they don’t license the 4K version to iTunes. Anywhere (not just Australia).

you might have to give AppleCare a call and speak with iTunes for content confirmation.
then how come google play has it 4K rise of the skywalker?
That is due to the agreement with Disney.
it may be streaming's service are reducing video resolution due to current situation and allow more people on internet the high quality more bandwidth used
This is not a streaming service, and Disney movies have never been available in 4K through iTunes.
