why do the three dots on iMessage no longer appear when someone types a response?

All good. I got it worked out. There was a post three years ago about this and just tried it. I changed my time to auto instead of setting it manually
They still show on my iPhone if the other person sends an iMessage and not an SMS text. I don’t see the dots of an Android user is texting me.
I know that it is only for iPhone users only and does not show on text messages but for iMessages.
I don’t see those three dots even when Im on iMessage and waited for the person to respond. I did a test with my friend earlier and just wont show.
I’m not sure why it isn’t showing for you. Is this just one contact or all contacts? It could just be a fluke and it will start working a again. How long has this been happening?
