Hello vasts,

Thanks for the post in Apple Support Communities. I understand you have a concern about Emergency alerts, and I'm happy to see if I can help.

To verify, he's not seeing any Government Alerts options at the very bottom of Settings > Notifications?

Availability for this can vary by region and carrier; I recommend checking out the below, which may explain this: About emergency and government alerts on iPhone and Apple Watch

"Turn Government Alerts on or off

By default, Government Alerts are turned on for your device.* When you receive a government alert, you hear a special sound that's similar to an alarm. If you want to turn these alerts on or off, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Scroll to the very bottom of the screen.
  3. Under Government Alerts, turn the type of alert on or off.*

*Government Alerts are supported when using a SIM card from a supported carrier. Your Apple Watch can receive these alerts if your iPhone can receive them and is nearby, or your Apple Watch is on a Wi-Fi network. With a cellular plan from a supported carrier, your Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + cellular) can receive these alerts without your iPhone nearby. For more information, contact your carrier. "

I hope I've answered your question.

Cheers.

thank you for your answer!

Yes, he's not seeing any Government Alerts options at the very bottom of Settings > Notifications.

Our country, Greece, supports amber/emergency alerts. We received one 2 days ago. Though, my parents didn't. they have iPhone 6 with iOS 12. I have iOS 13 in my SE and I got.

On their phone there is no option in settings and notifications to turn the feature on/off. Mine has it.

I am wandering if this is a iOS 12 issue or something different. Is it possible that iOS 12 in Greece is not supporting this feature and you need a newer device with iOS 13?

thanks in advance
