so if you wish to make a present to someone it better be in your country?
I don't understand the issue. You want to gift someone in another country a computer but you want Apple to send them the gift. Just buy the gift and you send it to them. Seems logical to me. If I in the USofA want a product from a company in a foreign country that does not ship overseas, someone in that country would have to buy the product for me then ship it to me. Sorry but what am I not understanding?
In addition to the others' comments, please understand that product warranties apply only to the country in which the item is sold.
In other words if you purchase a Mac in the United States, warranty repairs can only be performed in the United States. EU statutory warranties would not apply.

Or, you need to have it shipped to you and then ship it yourself to the other person. Or, send them the money.
You cannot. Apple will not ship to another country, only the same country your shipping address and billing address are in.
Well, To begin with answering to John there is the surprise factor and giving the money doesn't do it. I can ship it myself but I will face double shipping costs that might be quite expensive depending which country I want to ship. Moreover, I might face custom duties again depending the country. I just thought apple being worldwide and prices being the same all over the world it could be feasible.
Thank you all
Thanks

yes.
or send them the present as money into their account. 😉
Thanks for the clarification Allan. Obviously I conflated the two.
I do that all the time! Maybe that's what Dear Wife means by my "conflatulence?"

John,
Mac computer warranties are worldwide. It is iPhones and iPads whose warranty is usually limited to the countries in which the device was purchased.
