I have just bought my 8 & 6 year old grandchildren an iPad each to continue their school work with their school over the net during the present Corona emergency.
Can anyone suggest a suitable video for that age group to learn how to use the new iPads basics.

Search YouTube for more child-based iPad tutorial videos.
There is a lot to learn about what an iPad and iPadOS can do.
It's hard to distill that information down to the level of a young child.

I'm pretty sure that, if you hand the kids an iPad and let them play for a little while, they'll have most of it figured out. I'd suggest downloading a couple of simple, age appropriate games to get started. Unlike most adults, children tend to be unafraid to explore and make mistakes.
I also strongly suggest you buy sturdy cases designed for kids for both iPads (if you haven't already done so).
