Would you recommend me taking my iphone to be check at Apple?
Just purchased the iPhone XS Max in September 2019. It is now March 2020. The phone has been overheating a few times within the last month. It's not an old phone. I just don't want it to possibly explode near me.

Having a weak cellular signal will cause it to get warm, leaving the camera on, and leaving the OLED display on for long periods of time. Go to Settings/Battery and see which apps are using the most energy. There is a rough correlation between energy consumption and temperature. Also check Settings/General/Background App Refresh to see which apps have the option to run in background.
Sir i have probem on my xs max max.few day back may iphone get overheated while charging,after that my iphone remain heat infront of front camera whole the time until it get switch off.When i switch on it remain heated and front camera also dont work and it says it will work after phone cools down.sir plz help to solve the problem
If a phone exceeds its rated operating temperature it will shut down and display a message saying it needs to cool down. If you do not see this message the phone is not overheating.
True. However, light usage of the phone shouldn't make it heat up right? Usually its just checking social media for a few minutes before putting it down. When I go back to pick up my phone, its fairly warm sometimes even hot to the touch. I also don't keep any apps opened in the background. I will proceed to restart my phone and even having to take it out of its case to cool down.
What were you using as a USB power source to charge the phone, and what kind of cable? Were they both Apple original equipment, and if they were not, were the marked as certified Made for iPhone?
Both are original but the cable is cut at middle.
Then you should not use that cable. If there is a short in the cable it could kill your phone (and possibly has).
