I'm trying to find somewhere to download Quicktime but the download on Apple's website says SnowLeopard at the end and that sounds fishy to me... anyone know where I can download quicktime securely and correctly from a secure site?

With newer versions of macOS, QuickTime would be included in macOS built-in applications. It's likely you won't need to download QuickTime at all. Any standalone updates would come from the Mac App Store.

QuickTime v10 is part of macOS, and not a separate download.
QuickTime v7 (7.6.6) is the previous framework, and unchanged (not updated) since Snow Leopard as found. This legacy QuickTime v7 is unsupported at this time, meaning that lost functionality and security issues will not be patched.
