Iphone8 water resistant

Please clarify...is the iPhone 8 suppose to be water resistant and what does that mean??

This article explains what apple means by water resistance on iPhones:

About splash, water, and dust resistance of iPhone 7 and later - Apple Support


It also gives some helpful tips about what to do.


But most importantly the water resistance is there to try and avoid damage if subjected to water.


You should never do it intentionally! And avoid it as much as possible.
