Does anyone use the zoom meeting app on iMac? My instructor wants to use it for a virtual class, but I see that it is not available on the App Store. Is it safe to use on an iMac?

Zoom is fine. It does not install a web browser.
It installs its own Zoom conference App, which is quite small.
You can then launch the Zoom app and connect to a conference from any web browser such as Safari. If you are sent a link with the conference ID, it generally opens a website which then launches the App. Nothing wrong with this.

Zoom is the primary video conferencing, presentation, collaboration app in the Fortune 100 company I work for.
I have this question, too. I read somewhere that Zoom installs a web browser on your PC which is not secure. I am currently running the Sierra OS. Does anyone have more information?
Much appreciated. Coronavirus has forced my Spanish Class on-line and they are using zoom. I now feel more confident in joining in!
