Computer Crash and FCPX re-render

My Macbook Pro failed to export a FCPX project, kept re-rendering the timeline endlessly, then it crashed. When I tried to restart it, the only way it came back is by plugging it in. Battery was around 70%

When it restarted the wallpaper had changed, FCPX is still not exporting and keeps re-rending.

All the things I tried so far:

  • I re-linked all material
  • I started a new library, re-imported all footage, created new project, copied/pasted timeline, still not working.
  • I disabled all tracks except the main storyline and logo. Exported just fine without any issues.
  • I disabled various tracks/clips outside of main storyline, and kept trying, is still wont export.

This is all I worked on for 2 hours now.

FCPX crashed multiple times.

Also, did the computer crash or just the application?

If the computer hold Opt-Cmd-P-R for 15 seconds as you launch the computer.

Hold Opt-Cmd s you launch the application to reset the preferences. Open the library you were working in. In Playback Preferences switch off background rendering. Select the library and use the Delete Generated files function to delete All render files.

still have problems give complete specs of system, media, and export process.

Make sure you reset the preferences every time the application crashes.

Is there any way to isolate what content won’t export? What’s different about the primary storyline content that allows it to export and additional material won’t.

can you give details of the computer system, its specs, the specs of the media. Is everything stored on the system drive?

So I went back to an earlier version, and started building up again (!) and kept exporting every time I added a clip. When I got to the logo tiff file, the render started re-rendering etc. So I deleted the file from the timeline.

However now FCPX is crashing every time I launch it.

if I just reach for that graphics file in the browser, the whole thing crashes.

all material have been copied to the library, on the computer's HD, and I have back up on an external HD, and it's connected.

I'm running 1.4HGz intel core i5, 16G memory, mojave,
