Is it already possible to use the cellular option of the Apple Watch 5 in the Netherlands?

Does anybody know whether it is already possible to use the cellular option of the Apple Watch 5 in the Netherlands? If yes, is it needed to use an eSim?

No. There are no carriers yet that support the eSim in the Apple watch in the Netherlands. See here: Apple Watch - Carriers - Apple

And yes, you will be required to use an eSim since the Apple Watch cannot take a regular physical sim card. The delay is specifically because carriers need to support the eSim.

The Apple Watch shares the iPhone phone number. Because of this the iPhone cellular carrier has to support the Apple Watch. Not all carriers are prepared to provide this sharing, or they are a cellular reseller and their contract with the carrier does not allow this service.

Basically it is up to the carrier to support the Apple Watch.
