Unable to remove app

I have an app on my phone which is installed through a different App Store account. I have deleted, but wanted to reinstall it. Then it gives me the message to log in to that other account. I don’t know the password of the account, therefore I cannot reinstall or delete the app. Is there a way that I can reinstall the app?Lthis is the state the app is currently in, not being able to be deleted or reinstalled unless logged into with the other account which I don’t own

any chances anyone could help?

Eagle_42,

You may be on to something. If you are in an area where this app is not offered, that may explain why it didn't fully download. Let's try this. Please navigate to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. After a moment, you will see your apps populate. Once you see your app, tap it, and choose delete.

If you are unable to delete the app in this manner, I would then advise making sure that your core information is backed up through iCloud and then restore the device to its factory settings. You would then set the device up as new and bring on your iCloud data. This is an extreme step to remove one app. It may be worth just ignoring the app and seeing if you can delete it when you are back in the country the app originates in.

Set up iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Best Regards.

Hello, Egale_42.

I understand that on your device, you have an app that was downloaded under a previous Apple ID. Once you get rid of the app that exists on your device in a state where it can’t be used or deleted, you will need to download it again using your current Apple ID. Let's look at what can be done to get rid of this existential app.

If you Restart your iPhone, does the app either disappear? Or, are you able to delete it after the restart? Restarting your iPhone usually does the trick in a situation like this, but please reply if it does and I'll look into what we might do next.

Best Regards.
