connecting a Canon MP495 to my new computer
what type of connector do I need to connect the USB plug from my printer. There is no USB port

Assuming your new computer has only USB-C ports, you will need an adapter, similar to the link below.

Then follow the instructions at the Canon site for connecting. Also note, you may be able to simply connect wirelessly to the computer, with the need for cables or adapters.
