Autocorrect in foreign language?

I bought a new iPhone 11 last week, and autocorrect tries to change everything I write to French and to add accents and things to all my words. I've triple checked and I do NOT have French keyboard switched on, I went into Settings - Keyboards and the only keyboards I have activated are English and Emoji.

I have tried doing a complete factory reset of my phone but this has not fixed the problem.

I do not speak French and have never typed in French or been to France. This is utterly bizarre and is preventing me from using my phone (I am using my laptop to post this).
