Transfer photos off first generation iPad

Hi there. I have a first generation iPad kicking around and it has a ton of photos on it that don't seem to transfer to my photo stream. How do I transfer the photos from the iPad to my macbook?

Thanks for your help.

There only two ways to transfer images off a 10-year old, 1st gen iPad.

You can try connecting that iPad to your MacBook, using that iPad's 30 pin connector to USB cable, and see if the images will transfer to the macOS Photos app.

OR, failing that,

Since there are no more image transfer apps available for iOS 5.1.1, you will have to email these images to yourself in batches of 5 or 6 images ( the most you can batch email at a time from that model iPad ), then open these emails and save these images on your MacBook.

There are no other options.
