Reference Cell totals from a second table Numbers for iCloud

Hi am trying to find a formula that will reference the totals of the cells in another table. I think I have the cells referenced correctly in table 2, but the formula is not adding the totals of cells in the first table.

See below, Family totals:

Coopers / cell b2 --> would like to see a sum total of the 4 family members totals from Table "Personal Log" above:

thank you!

Ok another follow up for you..

What I would like to do is set up a drop down menu (I got this part, no probl). I need my participant to enter data every day

How I see this working is; Subject chooses their name from the drop down, and in the field below they enter the amount they have to enter ("daily visits" for ex).

The number the person enters each day (image 2) is totaled in a "master table". The master table would have a list of all persons name with their personal totals.

Then, we can use the Master to see how the totals for each participant is growing .

Thank you to anyone that has ideas on this! Here is a coffee and a donut to enjoy on your Sunday morning!

Hi Chris,

Spreadsheets, and the formulas in them 'live' in the NOW. The formulas can search for and use the data that is in a particular cell NOW, but have no knowledge of or way to learn what data was previously in that cell, nor does a formula have the ability to store the results of a calculation permanently in its own cell or in a different cell.

In you example, Chris is to choose "Chris" from the pop-up menu in cell C2, then enter a value in cell C3.

What is to happen when, later in the day, Kelsey is ready to make her entry for 'today'?

Regards,

Barry

What happens when Chris is ready to make his/her entry tomorrow?
