Novation Impulse 49 Controller map needed; Automap no longer supported

I have a Novation Impulse 49 controller is only working with basic controls in LPX since I've had nothing but nightmares with their now unsupported software Automap (issue there: Automap always scans my 120 plugins with every LPX launch continuously asks for write permissions through the Mojave file system).

So, I uninstalled Automap (wrote Novation but no response in a week) but now need to learn how to get LPX to recognize my controller or at least how to setup manually for transport controls.

All threads I've read so far here are quite dated.
