Microphone and Camera not appearing in sidebar in Privacy tab of 'Security & Privacy' System Preferences

I want to change the permissions relating to the microphone and camera for certain applications, however when I go into System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy, neither Microphone or Camera appear in the sidebar (see image) so I am unable to make these changes.

I was told to try an SMC reset but nothing changed. I have had issues with admin privileges in the past but I thought this had been resolved. I can confirm my user account is listed as Admin in System Preferences.

Updating to Catalina from High Sierra has solved the issue.

Thanks for the reply.

There are no in-app settings related to the microphone and as it is not displaying Microphone in the Privacy settings as mentioned, I am unsure where to go from here. I think perhaps I will need to try upgrading to Mojave/Catalina and see if the problem persists.

Then it must've been in a later OS like 10.14or 10.15

What steps are you taking or what errors do you get when trying?

Can you give is any more clues?

I'm deaf so can't test any of those Apps, but it appears my Mic & Speakers are available in any App I've tried.

Specifically KakaoTalk, a Whatsapp/Skype service where you can make voice/video calls. My microphone doesn't work during these calls and I'm aware someone else fixed this by going into the Privacy settings as mentioned above.
