Apple Pay is supposed to be a payment option for the App Store. However, the only options for me are Credit and/or Debit card or Paypal. My Apple Pay is setup and works fine. I'm in the US so region is not an issue.

Under Payment and Shipping, it lists my current credit card (added via numbers). If I click on Add Payment, I see Credit/Debit Card or Paypal.
I talked to an Apple support rep who claims Apple Pay is no longer an option. Is that correct?
What I'm trying to do is use my Apple Cash balance for App store purchases.
I should add I do have two factor authentication turned on for my account.

What device are you using to see the App Store? On your phone when you go to settings>Apple ID>payment & shipping>does your Apple Pay payment method show up there?
Did you already try signing out of your Apple ID and back in?
Apple Pay doesn't show up for me in the App Store
