It should work, might need to use Generic PostScript or Generic PCL Drivers.
Got it working like a champ.
Thank you very much.
I have four Laser Jet 4 work horses. Three of them are on my wireless router - this one is a stand alone computer down in my shop to do research or parts, etc.
Using Guntenprint drivers and they print great.
Again, thank you for your assistance.
GRC
I use Gutenprint which works great for older printers.
I will be gone today but, I will describe the problem in more detail.
First - when I add a printer I use the IP address assigned to the Jetdirect card.
Thanks for your suggestion.
Gary
OK, forgot to ask, what's the IP of your Mac's Ethernet port?
Sys Prefs>Network>Ethernet...
I have two JetDirect cards IP address on one is 10.5.1.53
The other is 192.168.2.1
I put these in the IP boxes when adding a printer. When I try to print nothing happens at the printer. On the the iMac it says waiting for printer.
Where do I find that - did not know it had an IP address. Think you just solved the problem.
There was no IP address - I put 10.5.1.53 to match the JetDirect and that did not work.
It cant be the same, try 10.5.1.52 & restart.
OK Gary, so what is the IP & what happens when you try to set it up?
