iPad Air 2 Not Charging

I have an iPad Air 2 that will not charge. Unfortunately I have not used it in a while so I thought I just needed a while to boost but this does not work. I’m using a 10w charger and Apple authorized cable cord but still nothing. The Screen is black and will not show any sign of charging or not charging or that I needs to charge. I have tried to hold the home button and power button together and will not show is resetting or signs of life. Connecting to iTunes isn’t working either because computer can not connect since no power. I’m taking it to Apple store when I get a chance but wanted to get others opinions first and see if someone has related to this problem.
