What is the difference between a pink vs gray circle contact icon and what does the crescent moon mean next to one in a text? Thx

Hi,

That crescent moon next to the contact name in your Messages app means that the Alerts are hidden for that contact. When the crescent moon is visible then that means whenever that contact sends you a message then you will NOT get an alert.

To remove the crescent moon and activate the alerts for that contact, SWIPE LEFT on the contact name and choose SHOW ALERTS.
