Photos on my email

Can anybody please tell me how I can put a photograph from my iPhone into an email, also on my iPhone, as I need to send an important document but there’s nothing on the keyboard that allows me to put a pic up?

Itll let me put emojis up but that’s it. No buttons for photos. Just a plain keyboard the same as the one for sending messages. It is an older iphone, granted, but still, putting a photo in an email shouldn’t be a problem in this day and age or is it just me?
