Iphone went to black screen

My iPhone max went to a black screen out of nowhere. I have done press and hold the Volume Down button while continuing to hold the Side/Power button. After 5 seconds, let go of the Side/Power button but keep holding down the Volume Down button. and nothing happens. Not sure what else to do.
