Macbook Pro electric shocking me while charging

Recently I have noticed my laptop has been electric shocking me while charging. The shocks are coming from the left side below the keypad and generally while using the mouse it will send electric shocks down my hand which then I can’t use my laptop while charging either. It does over heat while charging as well. I have had issues with this in the past where the laptop has melted my charging cable and I took the laptop and charging cable to a Genius Bar and they couldn’t seem to fix/find the problem but they replaced my charging cable.

Try using a grounded AC cord with the power adapter. Here is the AC cord for the US. If you live in a different region then locate a similar cable on the Apple website.

regardless of where you are in the world, the local AC extension cord has a metal plate inside (visible in this picture) that contacts the grounding lug on the power adapter. When used with a grounded outlet, the tingling sensation while charging should be eliminated:

You’ll want to check with Apple Support about this, as electrical problems and battery problems can be hazardous.

Check the charger, and check the outlet, too. A bad electrical ground or a badly-wired outlet can cause issues.
