ownership - i purchased this gear from a company i used to work for, how can i prove my ownership to apple?

i worked for a company for a year and they handed me this macbookpro for my work, when i finished my period of work with this company i had to purchase this mac from them, is there any way to officially prove apple i am the new owner of this machine?

MacBook Pro 15”, macOS 10.14

It is likely still registered to the company. Have the company do this: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac - Apple Support

I know for security reasons Apple requires a copy of the original purchase receipt/invoice showing the original system serial number. This is required to unlock a locked Mac. If you need this type of proof of ownership, then you would need to contact Apple directly to find out what is required to transfer official ownership (if it is even possible).


Otherwise the link @BobTheFisherman provides should be enough. If you need hardware support, then you should not need proof of purchase unless you live in a region which requires it.
