Can I disable a keyboard shortcut ?

Hi,

I am working in Autocad for Mac.

I always work in Full-screen-mode because it is great!

But...

Working in Autocad the ESC key is used as the command deselect - which I press every 5th second. It is basically the most pressed key when working in Autocad. My problem is that sometimes, hitting the ESC key exits full screen mode instead of triggering the deselect command.

Can I some how, either program specific or globally disable the 'Exit Full Screen'-shortcut ?

You can remap the "Deselect" key (ESC) in Autocad. As long as the "Deselect" is a menu accessible option (When you have AutoCad in focus, one of the menu options in the top left contain the "Deselect" command)

Open System Preference (From the Apple Icon) select "Keyboard," then select "Shortcuts," and choose "App Shortcuts."

From here you can click the "+" icon to add an App Shortcut.

From there, select the Application, ie "AutoCAD" then type the menu title "Deselect" (or however it appears in one of the menu. Any "..." or commas, must be included also), and then set a new Keyboard shortcut. ie CTRL+ESC or F1

This can be used to create your own shortcuts or modify any existing shortcut in any application; as long as there is a Menu option for it...

The above is probably your better option, as the more complicated option of setting up a AppleScript would require capturing the ESC input, checking if you are in ie AutoCAD then ignoring that input, otherwise it would exit fullscreen.
