hum from charger

When my spanking new macbook pro (13-inch, 2019) is plugged into wall thru usb with the insanely overpriced certified apple charger , a noticeable hum comes thru the headphones at what I'm guessing is the 50Hz line frequency. When I touch the notebook chassis the hum dies, so it would appear this is clearly ground noise getting thru the power supply. A previous thread mentioned removing a plastic filmfrom the ground plug in the charger and in my case no plastic was there, although just unplugging/plugging the corner part of the power supply did reduce the noise somewhat.

If there's any solution to this other than a. live with it and/or b. keep your body in contact with laptop at all times , I'd be obliged.

—Try the 3-prong grounded extension cord.

Power Adapter Extension Cable - Apple

—try plugging into a different circuit on your mains.
