I will no longer be buying Apple Products after multiple iPhones and MacBook.

About 2 months ago my iPhone first had this problem, I was in a taxi listening to music and my iPhone x just started loop restarting for about 2 days straight. I manage to get it on my macbook where i was unable to fix it with an update so i had to restore it and loose all the data. This problem was extremly frustrating to deal with and now, on top everything being in lockdown due to COVID-19, it started happening again, im unable to use my phone to call any family members, or apple support to try to get a fix (all apple shops have been closed here in Australia due to COVID-19). I joined the online support chat on my computer only to be told that theres nothing they can do and that id have to wait 4-6 weeks for any sort of fix and to pay a full repair fix, and then the support staff in the chat sent me a link to a full repair and disconnected my chat. This is especially frustrating as it is my second iphone x that has broke, and I know for a fact that I've never dropped it or done any damage to it, it just randomly started loop restarting while i was using it.

iPhone X, iOS 12

Restore from DFU mode is the deepest restore you can do - if this won’t work then it is a hardware problem for sure.

Do you remember what was your battery health when last time checked? Is there a possibility of copy parts in your phone (battery usually)? Does your phone heat up a lot when restarting?

To deggie: how do you know it is hardware? Loops are often linked to software.

I will try and do the DFU restore. I had the problem first about 2 months back and managed to fix it.

Turn out my iPhone was still under warranty even tho they told me it wasent, so i think im just going to send it in for a fix. My warranty is up in a month tho, anything i can do if it comes back and just starts restarting again but now im not under warranty?

so i had to restore it and loose all the data.

Which suggests you had not bothered to back up your phone in all the time you had it.

This should be a hard lesson learned for you.

Next phone... Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup > ON will save you losing data moving forward.

Whenever your device is locked, on wifi and being charged, you will create a backup that can used to get most of your data back.

Just a thought.

After the first incident I would have guessed there was something else wrong with your iPhone. All Apple Stores are closed everywhere except China. This has obviously overloaded the repair situation for Apple hence the 4 - 6 weeks. And they would need your iPhone to determine exactly what is wrong.

Will it surprise you to say that I really don't care if you buy Apple or not. That is up to you. You need to find and buy a phone from a company that never has any manufacturing defects and never have hardware failure after the warranty. Let us know what company that is.
