Hi Melonsho3s,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I see you have an unusual issue with your Touch Bar, and I'd like to do what I can to help out.

This may end up being a hardware issue. However, there is some troubleshooting to verify is not software related.

If you've performed any of these steps already, just move on to the next one.

Verify if this happens with a particular app. If so, see if there is an update available in the Mac App Store. How to update the software on your Mac Or uninstall the app and if the issue stops, contact the app developer to let them know what's happening.

How to contact an app developer

If the issue seems system wide:

Reset SMC and NVRAM.

How to reset the SMC of your Mac

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

Start in safe mode. Keep in mind, it may take longer to finish the start up, as safe mode does some system checks, and can sometimes resolve issues. You'll also see some differences in the display. This is expected with safe mode, and when you restart normally, they'll be gone. How to use safe mode on your Mac

Test in another user. If you don't have one, here's how to create one for testing: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Reinstall the macOS. How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery

Take care!

Hello,

Thank you for the reply. Over the last week or so I have been attempting the above steps one by one. After completing them all, I have to report that the problem is still occurring. It could also be my imagination, but it is much worse now! It now happens every time I step away from my computer or do not touch the touch pad or keyboard for too long. It seems to occur primarily when the Touch Bar "goes to sleep". Hopefully this bit of newly found information can help narrow down the problem.

Thanks
