Hi, so whenever I open up final cut and navigate round an open project or even zoom in on a project (any project not just a particular one) it just crashes. Tried to delete preferences, reinstall the app, create new libraries, EVERYTHING. Tried to use iMovie as a backup for editing and it does the exact same thing on there too. Looked everywhere and tried everything and there's nothing I could find on this, please help!

If you have a Time Machine backup or an installer from and older system it can be done. Make sure you have all your current files backed up. If possible use a clone like Carbon Copy Cloner. You can then rebuild the OS and migrate your documents from the clone.
I don't actually remember updating to 10.15.4, I have automatic updates on. It started happening last week sometime out of nowhere on FCP X and then I tried using iMovie as a backup and it started doing it on there too
did you find a solution? I have similar problem, since I updated to 10.15.4 fcpx freezes randomly and won't reopen until I reset the computer then of course library is damaged, tried every possible thing I found including sharing my screen with apple care, nothing helped.
the application freeze when I tried right clicking it on the dock It will freeze the dock, when I cmd shift esc I can force quitting it but it wont restart again just jump up and down on the dock then will freeze the entire computer, it also won't let the computer restart just get the finder to stuck and won't move until you actually press the button at the back of the Mac.
it is 10.4.8, will try opt cmd next time it happens but I dont think, its just get the entire system to a weird situation where it will freeze the rest of the open apps but will try it next time it happens which I assume very soon.
yeah, also spoke to a friend that said he had similar problem with one of the versions of Catalina so I guess will have to wait for update I couldn't find a way to downgrade a version/ thanks for all your help

just tried running it whilst chrome is closed and final cut crashed as usual
any news on this? haven't heard back in a while
just created a completely new admin user and its done exactly the same.
The version i've got is 10.4.8. I keep checking for new updates as well and it says everything is up to date
Any updates on this, and any advice on what to do from here?

For some reason even though i enabled it, full drive access wasnt on the last report. just done another one here with full access
Do you have Time Machine?
I don't at the moment, I have a drive thats half full of some important stuff that I could maybe use for it
