Cannot select multiple search items in Music for Catalina????

The screenshot shows search results in the new Music for Catalina. It does not seem possible to select all those results. I'm trying to put all the results into a playlist, without having to drag and drop each one individually. All the familiar techniques (cmd + A, drag a square across the items, etc) do not work. Does anyone know how to select multiple items with search results?

Before you do the search, put your list into Songs view (by using the View menu). Then you can highlight individual or multiple tracks the normal way. (Every view other than Songs results in a dorky and unmanageable view like the one in your picture.)

Also, do not use the search bar at the upper left. Instead, use View > Show Filter Field. It works much better.
