Is there anyways to speed up a MacBook Pro?

I have a 13” MacBook Pro from mid 2012. It’s pretty slow in general. I’m planning to buy a newer one soon but for now, what can I do to speed it up? I don’t want to take anything apart and change the stuff inside. I’m just looking for something that I easily do to add a bit of speed. I tried a Mac Cleaner which cleaned 500MB but it didn’t really do the trick. Thank you!
