macOS Catalina microphone not working
after updating to macOS Catalina, my microphone stopped working. tried adjusting it in the system preferences and all, and still nothing.

go to system preferences>sound and click input. Then select your mac internal speakers/external speakers. Make sure you don’t have any wired/Bluetooth headphones connected, they may interfere.

the day before I updated
You might also have to go into the privacy pane to select the app that is going to use the microphone.
did this already and still nothing. I even maxed out the input volume
how do I do this?
everything is checked and has access. the microphone is not working at all. I even tried to record a voice memo with the built in app, but still nothing
When was the last time you used it before you switched to Catalina?
