Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you have a question about locking your device while on a call without ending the call. Is that correct?
Since the same button is used to both lock the screen and end calls, there's not a way to lock your display on a call. However, you can always send your suggestion to Apple here: Product Feedback
