MacBook Pro 16 2019 10.15.4 Kernel Panic / Reboot When Plugged In -- Help!

After I I've updated to the latest release of macOS, I've experienced a weird bug every time I leave my laptop closed (still on) for more than a couple hours and plugged in.

It reboots and states the message/log below.

Not sure what they changed but this did NOT happen before the update.

Things I've tried:

  • SMC Reset
  • PRAM Reset
  • Soft Reset
  • Hard Reset

I still experience this issue everyday.

MacBook Pro 16", macOS 10.15

I have the same issue. Just got a new 16" MacBook Pro. When plugged in over night at some time it restarts. Same error every time.

this doesn't work with my MacBook Pro 2014. I write this as I open the lid, send the error report after restart and first thing sign on here to see if anyone has a fix. Catalina is **** poor piece of software. It ought to be able to restore to older system without having to wipe drive - but that is the next thing to do, to get back to stable OS.

Wish I could run Windows on this laptop...so fed up.

I can confirm that I have the same issue. 16" MBP, 2.4GHz 8-Core i9, 64GB RAM. Started after upgrading to 10.15.4. Tried resetting the SMC which did not help. I tried to restore from Time Machine and that gave a few days without crashing, but then it started again today. VERY annoying. I have not had ViritualBox installed, so I am pretty sure that isn't the reason for my crashes.

I will try to turn off Power Nap.. If that fixes it I really hope they come with a more permanent fix soon. Power Nap was one feature I was happy to finally get when I upgraded to the 16" last year..

Been sending in the crash reports to Apple every time, now several times a day.

After disabling "power nap" I haven't had the issue. But I plan to keep a close eye on it.

I spoke with a senior Apple tech person yesterday and shared my crash logs. It seems that the issue (i.e., crash) doesn't occur when our systems go to sleep, but when they are woken up from sleep - an interesting distinction.

I am having the same issue: MacBook Pro 16" 32GB ram - kernel panics 2-3 times a day - started after upgrade to 10.15.4. Disabling all startup items didn't stop the problem. I booted in safe mode - no kernel panics while booted in safe mode - only tested this for 1 day. I just disabled the power nap and am crossing my fingers.
