I upgraded to Catalina on my MacBook and now I cannot add any new information to contacts app. However, I can on my iPhone. What's going on?
MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.15
Go to System Preferences, iCloud, and UNCHECK item Contacts,
Close system preferences, open it again, and CHECK item Contacts again
this should solve the problem
If it doesn't, Sing Out of iCloud on Catalina, and sign in again

Did you try rebooting and try again?
