LED Cinema Display camera with Mini-display port and USB-C not working
I have a 2018 MacBook Pro running Catalina. I have several external Apple Cinema displays. One particular display, which is a mini-display port driven LED Cinema display cannot seem to turn on its camera or external speakers when using an app like Zoom or FaceTime
I have a connector which allows the monitor to work with the MacBook Pro's lid closed (e.g. functioning normally.) But with this particular monitor, I cannot get the camera to work. I know it is not the Mac; at my office (dual monitors) and at home (single) the camera works. In those locations, though, the monitors are Thunderbolt 2 monitors, IIRC.
Is my adapter possibly defective or limited? Any way to verify the camera is functional before buying a new adapter? Being stuck inside during the pandemic, I'd like to fix this if possible.
