Apple watch showing green and red charging snake screen.

Hi,

My apple watch won't start. When I try to start it, all that shows is the red charging screen. When I put it on charge the charging snake turns green but does not start.

I have done a force restart and given it plenty of time to charge. After being on charge for a couple of hours the watch gets really warm..

Anyone help?
