iPad Air and Smart Keyboard

I have a 3rd Gen iPad Air and bought the recommended Smart Keyboard as per the website. What I am finding is that with the iPad when set up in typing mode the weight of the iPad is lifting the front of the key board a few millimetres at the front so I do not get that solid feel to my typing. In order to get the keyboard flat I am having to prop the folded section at the back up slightly. Is this a fault? Have I bought the wrong keyboard? (As one past post suggests) More importantly what can be done about it?

The new Smart Keyboard arrived today and although the agent I spoke to told me this one is a new version outwardly I cannot tell the difference from the old one except in one crucial aspect as I type this the keypad lies flat no longer does it bounce as I type nor does it need propping from behind to force it to lie flat. One happy bunny here. Thanks for the help, thanks to Apple Care.
