Unable to print a contact sheet in Photos due to message about an Internet connection being required

It seems that, when trying to print a certain photo in the Photos application on you Mac, you're asked to connect to the internet in order to download it first. I'm glad to help with this.

Set up and use iCloud Photos -- If you're using iCloud Photos, and have Optimize Mac Storage turned on in Photos > Preferences, click on the photo to download it to your Mac, then see if you're able to print.

I am having the same problem. I have printed approximately 15 sets of Smart Album Contact Sheets. When I went to print the 16th set of Contact Sheets for a Smart Album, I received the following error message "Internet Connection Required. An internet connection is required to download larger versions of these items for printing." (Image below)

These albums/contact sheets contain hundreds of thumbnails/photos. I have restarted my Mac and printer - disconnected and reconnected from the internet, and am now at a total loss as to how this can be fixed.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Additional information: In some cases a number of photos are automatically downloaded to complete the contact sheets to be printed. After the download is complete, Printing is initiated and works fine.

But for some unknown reason, the above warning continues to pop up for other contact sheet files despite the fact that the internet connection is working perfectly - I believe that some photo files may need to be downloaded but it's impossible to know which ones and no notification or process begins as in the first scenario.
