HD-Data Drive On My Desktop?

In Catalina is it possible to make the HD-Data drive show up on your desktop and hide the other pointless unwritable one? Frankly I think this feature was ridiculous but hey that's just me, so back to the point, is it possible?

Catalina and "Extra" Hard Drive: Want the "Data" drive on my desktop, not the one with the OS Got Catalina installed. How can I have the data drive on my desktop that goes right to the data rather than having the other hard drive? I see no purpose of having a hard drive on my desktop if I can not write/copy files to it. I'd much rather have the Data hard drive so I can open it directly. Also, when making an alias of the Data drive, it does not in fact go to the Data drive but to the systems drive and you have to negotiate to the Data drive from there. How to re-firmlink Macintosh HD & Macintosh HD - Data drives into one. I recently backed up, installed Catalina, and decided to go back to Mojave for now. That was an ordeal, but I got it all working again. The only thing different is now I can see the previously hidden Data drive on my desktop and I'd like to hide it. I believe Apple calls it firmlink, to make two drives appear as one. I can't seem to find out how to re-firmlink them? Any suggestions? Thanks.

What appears on the desktop is a combination of the two. It is synthesized into a single volume.

You should be able to write to the unprotected areas.
