I can't seem to find or select my iPhone in the Finder....

I'm running mac OS 10.15 (Catalina)

MacBook Pro 15”, macOS 10.15

Oh, I figured it out. I had somehow removed the iPhone from showing in the sidebar of the Finder window.


The fix is quite simple:

  1. click anywhere on the desktop
    1. or optionally, on the Finder icon in the dock.
  2. select Finder > Preferences in the upper menu bar
  3. select the Sidebar tab in the window that just opened
  4. make sure the CDs, DVDs, and iOS Devices item has a check mark (✔︎) by clicking on it a couple of times.
