HomePod Popping noise after 13.4 update

I updated my HomePod yesterday to 13.4 and it now makes a popping noise. I have stereo HomePod set up and the affected HomePod cuts out and makes this popping noise intermittently. The HomePod was working perfectly until the 13.4 update

Exact same issue here.

I have 3 HomePods. 2 still work OK, one that is standalone, and the right one of the stereo pair.

After updating to 13.4, the one that was the left one, and the one answering to voice commands, now pops every hour or so.

I ungrouped the stereo pair, reset the HomePod twice (once via the Home app, once with AppleCare by tapping the HomePod for a while after unplugging-replugging it).

In a way, glad to know I am not alone.

Do you know the best way to make Apple aware of the issue?

Update: It's dead. After only 14 months, it croaked. Just outside Apple's one year warranty. Fortunately, I purchased through Costco who automatically extends the warranty an extra year. Returned it. They had a nice sale on a pair of Sonos One SL's that I have enjoyed very much. Sonos now works with AirPlay 2 so... it is a viable option.

Mine also repeatedly popped and eventually it just end up in the flashing plus and minus volume control symbols on top. Attempted reset over the phone with apple support, which made it past the 3 beeps and then failed. Essentially bricked now. It won't run, won't reset, and won't pair. They also said I could have it serviced for $279, but you can buy a new one for $220 now. 20 months old. Frustrating to say the least.

Same Issue, no help from apple. In fact I was treated very poorly in the store by one of there reps (for what it's worth), I will say that is uncommon but very disheartening non the less. Im sure you have tried everything I'v tried (hard reset, power cycle and recalibration). Does your device have rattle like something is loose inside? Does it Pop even when no music is playing?

To have it fixed is going to cost you basically the same price as a buying a new one. If you figure out a solution please let the community know I have found that there are a lot of us that have the same issues.

My experience with HomePod is souring me on apple as a company and Im as fanboy as they get.

Oh, if you are still within you 1 year from the purchase date, Id try to just return it for a new one, if you wait, it is my understanding there is nothing they will do for you. Truly sorry, it sucks to flush $300+.

Mine too! (Sorry, just had to add that). I just started noticing one HomePod popping a couple weeks ago - Probably about the time mine updated to 13.4.8. You mentioned your software version was 13.4. Has updating to 13.4.8 helped, or no change?

Talked to Apple support, and although very personable, they acted as if they had never heard of an issue. They recommend that I send it in for service (at $279).

I tried that but had a hard time. What exactly are the steps to add a new home? I have recently decided to abandon apple’s overpriced junk. I bought a Sony XB41 wireless Bluetooth waterproof speaker. I didn’t buy the HomePod for Siri anyway. The Sony gives me the versatility to take it outdoors and enjoy nice music with a lot of bass. Plus a light show. Target had it recently for $150. Who needs the HomePod?
